Jesse S. Gill is the firm's Senior Associate Attorney and has been with the firm since 2011. The primary focus of Jesse’s current practice is Juvenile matters, Family Law & Criminal Defense & Appeals. Jesse is licensed to practice law in California (State Court) as well as the Northern & Central Districts of California (Federal Court). Jesse completed his undergraduate education with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from UC Irvine in Biomedical Engineering where he received Deans List Honors multiple times for academic excellence. Jesse then attended the Santa Clara University, School of Law.

He received the Emery Scholarship & High Tech Award for academic excellence when attending SCU. In Law School, Jesse interned for approximately one year at the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s office. Since working at Johnson & Johnson, Jesse has developed an extensive knowledge and successfully represented clients in Juvenile, Family, Criminal, Administrative & Civil Law from the inception of a case all the way through the appellate process. Jesse has experience presenting direct and cross examination of witnesses, both lay and expert witnesses, and has engaged in dozens of hearings and Court trials.

Jesse has represented both parents as well as family members through the Juvenile Dependency process. Jesse has represented clients in pre-dependency meetings with the Department of Children and Family Services. Jesse has represented clients through the preliminary stages of the dependency process, through Detention, Jurisdiction & Disposition hearings. Jesse has also managed and successfully represented clients through 6, 12, & 18 month review hearings. Jesse has conducted multiple trials through termination of parental rights & has drafted several appeals seeking to vindicate parental rights post-termination. Jesse has received mandatory training required by the California Rules of Court to practice Juvenile Dependency law including the Dependency 101 Legal Seminar presented by Advokids.

Jesse has represented clients in both family & probate law related to child custody including filing requests for Jesse Gill with  hands on desk orders, requests for restraining orders and defending against such requests in family law. Jesse has represented clients in engaging in child custody evaluations, emergency screenings, & mediations. Jesse has engaged in and successfully tried probate cases, including guardianship and termination of guardianship proceedings. Jesse has received training on various issues related to Family Law & Child Custody through the Contra Costa County Bar Association.

Jesse has successfully received multiple reversals on appeal in criminal cases stemming from Contra Costa, Santa Clara, and Sonoma Counties based on violations of individuals’ constitutional rights. Jesse is a member of the Contra Costa County Bar Association & the Phi Alpha Delta Law Community. When not in court or in the office, Jesse enjoys working out, going for hikes, playing golf, and spending time with his family and friends.
